Summer Student Employment Opportunities
The Township of Ignace is seeking energetic, dedicated and skilled individuals who are interested in being summer youth program staff and invites applications for the following summer student positions.
(1) Summer Recreation Programmer oversee an assistant programmer; assist with summer scheduling; organize, plan, and host summer programs, day camps, activities, and/or events. Must enjoy working with children/youth; demonstrate team leadership skills, creativity, reliability, and initiative. Must have and maintain a valid G2/G license. Successful applicant must complete a criminal reference background check, at his/her own expense prior to start date.
(3) Assistant Recreation Programmer organize, plan, and host summer programs, day camps, activities, and/or events. Must enjoy working with children/youth; and demonstrate creativity, reliability, and initiative. Successful applicant must complete a criminal reference background check, at his/her own expense prior to start date.
(1) Swim Instructor implement and organize a summer swim schedule for children, youth, and adults; advertise and market the program; provide written and verbal evaluations and reports; oversee an assistant; possess good communication skills and be responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are followed. Must have current Canadian Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification and/ or Lifesaving Society Instructor Certification. Must have and maintain a valid G2/G license. Successful applicant must complete a criminal reference background check, at his/her own expense prior to start date.
(1) Swim Assistant assist in organizing a summer swim schedule for children, youth, and adults; organize/sanitize swim equipment. Applicant must be a team player and be able to follow instructions accurately while adhering to the Canadian Red Cross and Lifesaving Society guidelines. Successful applicant must complete a criminal reference background check, at his/her own expense prior to start date.
(2) Tourism Counselor maintain current tourist information while providing courteous service to visitors; have knowledge of the local area and history; have good computer skills and assist with general housekeeping of Tourist Centre and grounds.
(2) Landscape Technician - provide assistance in maintaining all Township lawns including gardening, weeding, planting, operating lawn mowers, gas powered weed eaters, etc. Must wear CSA safety footwear.
(2) Public Works Labourer assist with general labourer duties including shoveling, raking, setting up signs, working in and around heavy equipment, must wear CSA safety footwear. Must have and maintain a valid G2/G license.
(2) Arena Technicians provide assistance to Arena Attendants with maintaining operations of the Arena Recreational Facilities. Assist Public Works employees with their increased summer workloads. Must have valid G2 drivers license & First Aid/CPR Certification. Must wear CSA safety footwear.
